Fun in the sun and cheeky chicas

The last couple of weeks have been so much fun! I meant to post this about two weeks ago but I have been so busy!
It was my boyfriend’s dad’s Birthday on the 9th and he was having a dinner party in Reus (my boyfriends hometown) so we thought that we go for the whole weekend and make the most of it. Reus is a beautiful city with lots of tiny cobbled streets; packed with cafes, bars and shops, so it feels like a quaint old village. I have been a few times, most memorably for St. Jordi festival which was amazing to experience the culture and atmosphere, it has such a community vibe and as all of my boyfriend’s lovely family live there so I feel straight at home. Alguer cannot walk down the street without bumping into somebody he knows. There is a really good mix of cute little boutiques and high street faves so we did a bit of mooching around and shopping, of course stopping for beer and bravas. The weather was beautiful and it was lovely just to walk around and enjoy being out of the city. In the afternoon we caught up with friends and we made some desserts for the party, a tiramisu, a strawberry pavlova and a vanilla cheesecake. They went down very well and all the guests did their best to congratulate me in their best English.

(My phone turned the pictures into a gif.. can’t explain it but I kinda like it)

We also went to a wine festival and had a fantastic time, wine and sun and good company always makes for a great afternoon. You got an engraved glass and 5 ‘tasters’ although it was more like 5 full glasses. All local and all very delicious. My favourite was a red muscat.

Then as if the week couldn’t get any better, my lovely friends from Birmingham came to visit for the 3rd week of June and we had so much fun. I had missed them a lot and I really enjoyed having them here. I had planned a meticulous itinerary and we packed in a lot of things so I could show them all my favourite things to do in Barcelona.

We went to Tibidabo, Parc Guell, the beach, for lots of yummy food, cocktails and even squeezed in a really fun night out. I had such a great time I wish they were here for longer!

Last week I was in Reus again for their annual festival or ‘Festa Major’, I had such an amazing time and can’t wait to write a post about it all!
