With Christmas party season coming up I thought I’d upload this tutorial – a gold glittery eye. This makeup works on everyone with neutral, warm colours and it’s really easy to do!
Start off with a simple base look, you can watch my base and contour tutorial here (this is what I’m wearing in the video). I started this look with the lips, adding a dark brown lip liner (was from Estee Lauder but now not available), then applying Clinique Long Last Soft Matte Lipstick in Peony, followed by Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick by Kate Moss in shade 03 to achieve a muted pink colour.
I filled in my eyebrows with an angled brush (MAC 266) and MAC Era eyeshadow. The trick to a natural brow is using a shade much lighter than your hair colour and in a very ashy shade. This stops it from being too dark and means it fills in the brow like a shadow, rather than adding colour.
For eyes, I used just two eyeshadows. First, a shimmery yellow gold from KIKO, this funky lil pen is their ‘Eyetech Look Eyeshadow‘ and I used shade 102 Metallic Rich Gold. I applied this over the inner half of my eye. I applied Embark eyeshadow by MAC in the outer half of the eye in a V shape with a stiff eye brush from Sephora (no longer available), then made the V stronger with a pencil brush, outlining the crease and the outer wing. I buffed it out with a fluffy brush (200 by KIKO). Then, I lined my eyes and did a little flick with Rimmel Exaggerate liner. To finish the look, I patted Lime Crime Zodiac Glitter in Leo over the gold shade. Finish with mascara and lashes for added glam!
